Job Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Marshalls Land Systems (https://marshalladg.com/) and their team of Press Brake Setter/Operators, manufacturing mobile workspaces and their associated equipment. The role will be based at their facility in Cambridge (postcode CB5 8RX).

You will play an important role in high-profile military projects, and your ideas and contributions will be valued in a business where people matter. Training will be provided on the products, with scope for further development and progression within the company.

STANDARD pays £19.69 per hour PAYE (holiday pay included). Anything over 37 hours is paid at time and a half (£29.54 per hour PAYE). Sundays are paid at £39.38 per hour PAYE.

*Umbrella rates available; please enquire for further details. Role is inside IR35.*

Duration: 6-12 months (potential for extension and permanent prospects).

Hours: 7:15 am – 3:45 pm, Monday to Thursday, with a half-day finish on Fridays.

Purpose of the role:

  • Operation/setting of CNC and manual machine tools (brake presses, saws, laser cutters)
  • Machining of composite/metallic components to a high standard
  • Carrying out planned maintenance of machinery in accordance with schedules
  • Tooling modifications and repairs as detailed within manufacturing job cards and verbal instructions
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely, in line with risk assessments and health and safety legislation
  • Training available to develop additional skills within the department

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Significant experience using CNC machines and manual machine tools
  • Press brake experience highly desirable
  • Extensive experience in component part manufacturing/assemblies within an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or time-served apprentice
  • Good communication skills
  • High standards of quality
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload
  • Experience machining composite materials beneficial
  • Flexible approach to work
