A leading health organization seeks a Prescription Clerk/delivery driver for a part-time position. Join a dedicated Dispensary team providing efficient medication services and enjoy a supportive environment with opportunities for training and development. Ideal candidates will have GCSEs, customer service experience, and a NVQ in Pharmacy.
We are looking for a Prescription Clerk/delivery driver to join our dedicated and hard working Dispensary team for 27 hours a week.
You will be joining a Dispensary Manager and three Dispensers providing a prompt and efficient service to our patients.
You must be a great team player and be adaptable to changing priorities.
You will be encouraged to build on any existing knowledge and experience with regular training and support.
You will be entitled to 5 weeks annual leave increasing to 6 weeks after 2 years service.
A uniform and free parking is also included.
The post holder will project a positive and friendly image to dispensary patients and other visitors and deal with queries in a professional, courteous and efficient way.
Assist in the receiving and giving of prescriptions and assist with stock control, ordering and restocking of the dispensary.
There may also be a need to deliver medications to patients homes so a driving license and access to a vehicle is needed.

We are an accredited GP-training Practice, and encouraging learning and development for all our staff is part of our ethos.
We have a strong clinical team of four HCAs, a phelbotomist, five Practice Nurses, five Nurse Prescribers, and seven GPs, who are supported by experienced administration, dispensary and management teams. One of our GP Partners is the Clinical Director of the local Primary Care Network.
Our small team of four dispensers work closely with one another and provide medication services to around 2,500 of our registered patient
Duties and Responsibilities:
Answering the telephone promptly and dealing with prescription requests
Issuing prepared prescriptions
Collection of prescription charges/checking patient exemption statements
Processing prescription requests
Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage
Ensuring that drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the manufacturers instructions
Ensuring that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and maintaining the temperature control record/logbook
Cleaning work surfaces and shelving on a regular basis and ensuring that that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and kept in good working order
Maintaining full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions
Undertaking other reasonable duties within the framework of the post as directed by the Dispensary Manager
Keeping records of prescriptions sent to community pharmacies
Checking for email prescription requests
Dispensing of returned medications under the supervision of the Dispensers
To collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient or their representative
To receive monies on behalf of the Practice and keep a record of all the financial transactions
To support the Dispensers in dealing with all aspects of administration including sending invoices and dispensary related correspondence to the Practice Manager according to Practice policy
To provide an efficient and caring home delivery service to patients where requested
To maintain full and accurate computerised records for all dispensing transactions
