Job Title:Prescription Administrator

Payrate:£12.21 per hour

Contract Type:Temp to Perm

Location:U3 Peartree Business Park, Desford Lane, Ratby, LE6

Brief Job Description:

  • Based in a small pharmacy branch office environment
  • Receiving and sorting deliveries into the warehouse/back room
  • Handling a high volume of outbound calls to surgeries to request outstanding prescriptions
  • Managing inbound calls from surgeries regarding prescriptions and orders
  • Escalating any concerns to the Team Manager (TM) about prescriptions not being issued
  • Challenging surgeries where discrepancies in prescription receipts arise
  • Arranging stock collections where prescriptions won’t be issued
  • Ensuring prescription accuracy (correct product, quantity, and code)
  • Stopping deliveries if prescriptions are not going to be issued
  • Raising credits where applicable and coordinating with patients and GPs for clarifications
  • Working alongside patient advisors to resolve product or quantity queries
  • Redeeming prescriptions via NHS Smartcard when available
  • Performing general admin duties including call handling, data entry, and email communication

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent telephone manner and confident communication skills
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
  • Computer literate – able to use email, enter data, and learn internal systems (training provided)
  • Good maths skills and high attention to detail
  • Resilient – must be able to absorb and retain information during an intensive 4-day training period
  • Willing to attend a trial day before formal training

Hours of Work:

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (may vary slightly depending on deliveries)
