A healthcare organization in Wigan is seeking a dedicated Prescribing Paramedic to join their PCN team. The successful candidate will manage the care home team, ensure compliance in patient medication queries, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. A Master's-level education in advanced clinical practice and independent prescriber qualification are essential. This role offers a permanent contract with flexible working hours.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prescribing Paramedic to join our Wigan North PCN team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for patients. The role involves being part of a care home team providing support to care homes allocated to the 4 practices within the PCN. The position will be employed under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) meeting the requirements outlined in the Network Contract Agreement DES. We are a PCN of four practices in the Wigan North area: Aspull Surgery, Beech Hill Medical Practice, Shevington Surgery and Standish Medical Practice. We work closely together to deliver high-quality patient care.

The PCN is committed to maintaining a confidential service. Patients entrust us with sensitive information relating to their health and care. All staff must protect patient information and maintain confidentiality.
All personnel are required to think about how they achieve results and look for opportunities to improve quality and patient care. Staff should interpret national strategies into local implementation strategies. All staff are to contribute to investigations and root cause analyses and participate in serious incident investigations and multidisciplinary case reviews. The PCN promotes a culture of continuous improvement.
We provide a full induction programme. All staff are required to partake in mandatory training as directed. The post holder will mentor team members and disseminate learning. The role supports ongoing professional development and sharing of learning (e.g., courses and conferences).
All staff should recognise collaborative working, manage workloads effectively, and communicate to share information appropriately. Delegation should follow safe practice and competence assessment. Plans and outcomes should be agreed.
Staff should use technology to plan, implement, and monitor care. Data should be recorded with SNOMED/read codes for audit and monitoring. The post holder must adhere to PCN/practice directives and maintain security and confidentiality.
All staff are required to dress appropriately for their role.
