Job summary

EdAdvance seeks a part-time Teacher Assistant at the Plymouth Family Resource Center Preschool to support preschool children aged 3 to 5 in a nurturing learning environment.

You will assist classroom teachers in developmentally appropriate activities, promote school readiness in language, literacy, and numeracy, and supervise children during activities while following CT regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• Build effective relationships with children, families and co-workers.
• Maintain confidentiality about issues related to children and their families.
• Regular and consistent attendance is essential for the role.

Responsibilities

• Support lead and assistant teachers in implementing daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences.
• Provide classroom coverage as a substitute teacher as needed.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, assisting with daily care routines.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support for behavioral and emotional development and observe progress.
• Model positive behavior and communicate with parents under guidance of the lead teacher.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
