Responsibilities

The Safety & Security Pre-Sales Designer plays a key role in North’s Smart Place strategy by designing and proposing security solutions tailored to client needs. This role requires technical expertise in Security Systems such as CCTV & Access Control, as well as strong communication skills to understand client requirements. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, creative in problem-solving, and capable of crafting bespoke solutions that exceed expectations.

Client Consultation: Engage with potential clients to understand their security needs, site challenges, and objectives for security installation.

System Design: Use technical knowledge to design comprehensive, customized security solutions that meet client requirements and integrate with existing infrastructure.

Proposal Development: Prepare detailed proposals including system designs, product specifications, installation plans, and cost estimates.

Presentations: Conduct client presentations to demonstrate features and benefits of proposed security solutions, addressing questions and concerns.

Collaboration: Work with the sales team to align system designs with sales strategies and client expectations.

Product Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest security technologies, trends, and best practices to ensure innovative and competitive solutions.

Documentation: Ensure all pre-sales documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and professionally presented.

Qualifications

Certification in Electronic Engineering, Security Systems, Information Technology, or manufacturer systems.

Proven experience in security system design, sales, or technical support, preferably in pre-sales.

Strong understanding of CCTV & Access Control technologies, including IP and analogue systems, VMS software, networks, and connectivity solutions.

Experience with high-end Enterprise systems (5+ years), such as Genetec, Milestone, Lenel; certifications are an advantage. Networking skills with a CCNA are desirable.

Ability to design high and low-level technical documentation and communicate it effectively to end users.

Knowledge of IT systems such as Windows Server, Domains, Mapping systems, and Linux is highly desirable.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
