Our client is a global leader in public safety technology building omnichannel emergency service communications solutions. Following its growth across the Americas, the company is about to launch in the UK.

The Technology & Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing activities that combine technical and Sales & business operations capabilities. This individual will assist the UK VP in maintaining customer relationships, working with technical, product, and engineering teams to understand the product technically and develop new products. The individual should be comfortable in a technical environment and will explain the product and integration requirements to UK clients after training from the global team.

Position Requirements:

  1. At least 4 years of experience in a similar role with complex SaaS products, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  2. A degree or professional qualification in Software Engineering, Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable experience.
  3. Proven technical knowledge in IP networking.
  4. Knowledge of Cloud service architecture.
  5. Experience managing sales processes, including proposals, tenders, and project implementation.
  6. Ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  7. Understanding of government data management, accreditation, and assurance (advantageous).
  8. Strong customer-facing and presentation skills, with excellent communication.
  9. Team player, self-motivated, capable of leading projects technically.
  10. Background in blue light/public safety (advantageous).
  11. Knowledge of Cisco collaboration architecture (advantageous).

Responsibilities:

Client liaison and Pre-sale support (80%):

  • Deep knowledge of company products, technology, and value propositions.
  • Understanding customer needs and translating them into solutions.
  • Responding to RFIs and RFPs.
  • Delivering technical presentations.
  • Identifying new business opportunities.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to develop solutions.
  • Supporting pilots and product demos.
  • Developing training and onboarding materials.
  • Providing training and mentoring for partners.
  • Training users on new products and features.
  • Attending safety and government technology events.

Business Processes (20%):

  • Supporting the UK VP and building best practices.
  • Assisting in operational capability development in the UK and Europe.
