Job description

Job Title: Prepress Operator

We are seeking a highly capable Prepress Operator with a strong work ethic to handle file processing, imposition, proofing, and plate output for a well-established printing company. The primary goal of this role is to provide direct technical support to customers, promptly resolving file supply issues and ensuring exceptional pre-production service.

Requirements:

• Current employment at a commercial printer with minimum B2-sized presses
• Ability to relocate to a remote location

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process files efficiently using prepress software and hardware following established practices.
2. Provide direct support to clients via phone, email, and visits to resolve file supply issues promptly.
3. Impose and prepare pages and impositions for press.
4. Develop skills across functions to enhance versatility.
5. Coordinate with CSR or Estimating departments to pass on additional processing charges for invoicing.
6. Be an active member of the pre-production team.
7. Maintain CTP skills and step into this area as needed.
8. Clean and maintain platemaking processors and output devices according to maintenance procedures.
9. Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
10. Follow quality and productivity practices to maintain and improve standards.
11. Perform quality checks using relevant procedures.
12. Log activities related to pre-production and platemaking efficiently.
13. Undertake additional tasks as deemed necessary by management to support business interests.
14. Support the company in design and marketing activities upon request.
