Responsibilities include preparing components, setting up equipment, mixing paints, inspecting finishes and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. Collaboration with the production team is essential to meet daily targets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lighting components and parts for painting and finishing.
• Clean, sand, rub down, mask and prime surfaces for paint adhesion.
• Set up spray painting equipment and ensure readiness.
• Mix and prepare paints and materials per specifications.
• Assist with spraying and finishing to achieve high-quality results.
• Carry out visual inspections for drips, coverage, scratches or imperfections.
• Correct minor finishing issues before moving to production.
• Clean and maintain painting equipment, guns, hoses, booths, ovens and filters.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling paints and chemicals.
• Wear PPE including respirators, gloves and safety goggles.
• Monitor supply levels and report shortages as needed.
• Identify and report issues with paint application or equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.

Paint Preparation & Finishing Assistant

Proactive Global is looking for a practical and detail-focused Paint Preparation & Finishing Assistant to join a busy manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will support the paint department, preparing lighting components for painting and finishing. Responsibilities will include surface preparation, sanding, masking, priming and assisting with spray painting, ensuring all components meet the required standards of quality, consistency and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lighting components and manufactured parts for painting and finishing.
• Clean, sand, rub down, mask and prime surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
• Set up and prepare spray painting equipment, ensuring it is ready for use.
• Mix and prepare paints and other materials in accordance with the required specifications.
• Assist with spraying and finishing components to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Carry out visual inspections to identify defects such as drips, uneven coverage, scratches or imperfections.
• Correct minor finishing issues where required before components move to the next stage of production.
• Clean and maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, hoses, booths, ovens and filters.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling paints, chemicals and other hazardous materials.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves and safety goggles.
• Monitor paint and material supplies and report shortages when necessary.
• Identify and report issues relating to paint application, equipment performance or finished components.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
• Work closely with colleagues across the production team to meet daily manufacturing targets and deadlines.
• Follow established production methods and quality standards to ensure consistent results.

Requirements

• Previous experience in paint preparation, finishing or a similar role within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
