Job summary

• Responsibilities include overseeing assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care.
• Lead delegated responsibilities as defined by Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with multidisciplinary team and service users of the Preoperative Assessment service.
• Be responsible for day-to-day management of the Preoperative Assessment unit in absence of Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
• Manage a delegated group of Band 3 staff ensuring compliance with mandatory training and appraisal.
• Ensure a patient-focused service incorporating feedback to improve care.
• Act as an effective role model.
