About The Role

Place Partnership are seeking to appoint an experienced, proactive, and highly motivated Premises Manager to lead the effective day-to-day management, maintenance, and safety of the Ossett Academy and South Ossett Infants Academy sites. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring that all facilities are safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards, to create an exceptional learning environment that supports the wellbeing, achievement, and success of the academy communities.

The Premises Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for site operations, ensuring the safe, secure, and efficient running of the academy estates. This includes managing site access and security systems, overseeing day-to-day facilities operations, and leading responses to urgent situations such as adverse weather conditions, building failures, and emergency incidents. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with academy leaders, staff and external partners to proactively resolve estates and facilities issues, delivering a high-quality support service. They will also provide support to the Director of Estates and Estates Hub Leader, driving continuous improvement across the estates and ensuring facilities consistently meet the needs of pupils, staff, and the wider academy community.

The postholder will further lead, manage and develop a team of premises staff, ensuring they are effectively deployed, appropriately trained, and fully supported to deliver an outstanding facilities service across the academy sites. They will also be responsible for managing rotas, allocating work, monitoring performance, and promoting full compliance with health and safety procedures for all staff.

The successful candidate will manage the effective management of contractors across both sites, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, on schedule and to the required specification. This includes overseeing procurement activities, monitoring budgets, and ensuring effective use of resources. They will maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness across the sites through the effective management and monitoring of cleaning services, fostering a positive and proactive approach to maintaining the learning environment.

About You
  • Proactive and highly organised, able to plan in advance, prioritise effectively and keep all sites operating smoothly.
  • Visible and hands‑on, with a practical approach to monitor standards, coach teams and resolve issues.
  • A strong people leader, able to motivate their teams while supporting the Estates Hub Leder to build a consistent approach across the West Hub.
  • Commercially aware and quality‑driven, able to challenge contractors appropriately, secure value for money and ensure safe working practices.
  • Calm under pressure, able to respond decisively to incidents and emergencies, maintaining safety and business continuity.
  • Committed to continuous improvement for our academies, always spotting opportunities to streamline processes, raise standards and improve the day‑to‑day experience for our young people, staff and visitors.
  • Effective at building relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues and leaders across the Trust.
