Job summary

Catch22 is seeking an experienced School Premises Manager to join Sir William Burrough Primary School in Limehouse, London. You will take day-to-day responsibility for the site, manage maintenance and contractors, and ensure health and safety compliance.

This is a 3-month contract with the potential for permanency, starting ASAP, with hours 6:30am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as Facilities Manager, Premises Manager or Site Manager, ideally within a school or similar environment.
  • An enhanced DBS for the child workforce, or willingness to obtain one immediately.
  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety and statutory facilities compliance.
  • Experience managing contractors and planned and reactive maintenance.
  • The ability to manage and support cleaning or site staff.
  • A reliable, organised and hands-on approach, with the confidence to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and a clear commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

  • Take day-to-day responsibility for the school premises, grounds and facilities.
  • Manage planned and reactive maintenance, coordinating and monitoring specialist contractors as required.
  • Ensure statutory compliance across health and safety, fire safety, legionella, asbestos, PAT and other premises-related requirements.
  • Maintain accurate compliance, maintenance and contractor records.
  • Manage site security, including opening the school and locking up.
  • Oversee and support cleaning and site staff to maintain high standards throughout the building.
  • Carry out routine inspections, minor repairs and practical maintenance where appropriate.
  • Respond promptly and calmly to urgent site issues, changing priorities and operational requirements.

Job description

Location: Sir William Burrough Primary School, Salmon Lane, Limehouse, London E14 7PQ Contract: Initial 3-month assignment, with potential to become permanent Start:ASAP Hours: 6:30am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday

We have an urgent requirement for an experienced School Premises Manager to join Sir William Burrough Primary School in Limehouse. The school has around 330 pupils and occupies a refurbished Victorian building, so we are looking for someone who can step in confidently, work independently and take control of the site with minimal handover.

The Role
  • Take day-to-day responsibility for the school premises, grounds and facilities.
