Horizon Care and Education have an exciting opportunity for a Premises Manager to be based at our specialist SEN school in Dudley. We require a candidate with site management and maintenance experience to manage the school site.


Our specialist independent schools offer unrivalled opportunities, securing sound educational outcomes with personalised, inclusive, and stimulating programmes of learning. We provide education and support to children and young people who have complex special educational needs and require their SEN provision to be delivered in a specialist setting.


Role will be an initial 3-6 month placement with possibility of going permanent on completion of probation period.


PROFILE:

Responsibility for managing the school sites and vehicles. Completing maintenance tasks, carrying out compliance checks, ensuring a safe, clean and well-maintained site at all times.


You will be working independently across 2 school sites with a variety of responsibilities and tasks to complete on a daily/weekly basis.


  1. Utilising established handyman/maintenance skills, for both internal and external works.
  2. Health & Safety awareness, and safe working.
  3. Manage contractors while on site.
  4. Open and shut site each day.
  5. Complete administrative tasks, via paperwork and electronically.
  6. Manage the cleaning staff and ensure site is clean and tidy at all times.
  7. Completing compliance checks and managing external contractors completing compliance works, including fire, legionella (water), asbestos and gas/electrical.
  8. Good computer skills, can use basic email, word and excel.
  9. Fit and able to lift and move items relevant to the role.
  10. To work both inside and outside whenever needed.
  11. Always give a high level of customer service.
  12. Supervise external contractors when needed.
  13. Show responsibility for a high level of finish to all works undertaken.
  14. Read and understand risk assessments and method statements, safe systems of work.
  15. Ensure tools and parts used are of the required standard for use.
  16. Maintain and regularly clean vehicles.
  17. Be prepared to work irregular hours if required to complete urgent tasks.
  18. Any other duties relevant to the post as requested by the Head of School.
