This hands-on position suits someone with facilities or caretaking experience who can ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors, while coordinating contractors, health and safety checks and routine site operations. Experience in a school setting is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Previous premises, facilities, caretaking or maintenance experience.
• Strong practical and DIY skills.
• Good knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the school premises
• Open and close the site securely
• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Complete health and safety and compliance checks
• Monitor the condition of buildings, grounds and facilities
• Coordinate contractors and maintenance visits
• Manage site security, keys and emergency procedures
• Support room setups, events and school activities
• Maintain accurate premises and maintenance records
• Ensure the site remains clean, safe and well presented
