Job summary

Ash Field Academy in Leicester is seeking an Apprentice Premises Officer to support site security, health and safety, and daily maintenance during a structured apprenticeship.

You will learn from skilled staff, complete college courses, maintain equipment, keep a logbook, and contribute to weekly safety checks. This fixed-term apprenticeship is 12-18 months with opportunities within Discovery Schools Trust.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs A-C or equivalent qualifications.
• Premises maintenance, site security, health and safety duties during apprenticeship.
• Training provided with college courses during the apprenticeship.
• Learn health and safety practices within the academy environment.
• Maintain resources and equipment in good repair.
• Keep a logbook of projects and skills learned.
• Assist in weekly Health and Safety checks.
• Maintain general good housekeeping across the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Observe, learn and understand a range of maintenance and facilities tasks.
• Work independently or with a team to increase contribution over time.
• Complete suitable college courses during training period.
• Learn the importance of Health and Safety in the academy.
• Maintain and repair resources and equipment.
• Keep a logbook of projects and skills gained.
• Assist in weekly Health and Safety checks.
• Ensure a tidy, organised workspace.
