Job summary

Siemens Energy in Lincoln is seeking a Precision Welder to support turbine blades and vanes manufacturing. You will perform high-precision TIG welding, interpret WPS and technical drawings, and ensure joints meet stringent aerospace and gas turbine standards.

You will maintain welding codes, stay current with certifications, and operate with a strong focus on quality, process control, and safety in a high-integrity manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship in Welding, Fabrication, or a related engineering discipline (e.g., City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3).
• Proven experience as a precision welder in aerospace, gas turbine, or high-integrity manufacturing.
• BS EN ISO 9606-1 Welder Qualification and ASME Section IX Welding Qualification.
• Strong TIG (GTAW) welding skills.
• Ability to interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and technical drawings.
• Awareness of NDT and experience with precision measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-precision TIG/GTAW welding on turbine blades, vanes, and related components.
• Interpret WPS, fabrication blueprints, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
• Prepare materials, joints, and fixtures to ensure alignment and penetration.
• Conduct visual inspections of welded joints for defect-free results and compliance with standards.
• Maintain welding codes, certifications, and qualifications relevant to gas turbine manufacturing.
• Carry out routine maintenance and calibration of welding equipment per EHS guidelines.
