Job summary

SND Trade Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Quality Inspector for an established manufacturing business in Standish, Wigan. This hands-on role requires accurate inspection of components across manufacture, using micrometers, verniers, height gauges and CMMs to ensure conformance to drawings and tolerances.

You will work with Production under the Quality Manager, maintain records for traceability and support audits, with a focus on continual quality improvement in a busy shop floor environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quality Inspector in engineering/manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of drawings, tolerances and material specs.
• Experience using micrometers, verniers and height gauges.
• Competent with CMM; programming knowledge advantageous.
• Familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Experience maintaining inspection records for traceability and audits.

Responsibilities

• Carry out dimensional and visual inspections at various stages of manufacture.
• Operate a range of inspection equipment and measuring tools.
• Read engineering drawings and tolerances to verify components.
• Record inspection results and support traceability and audits.
• Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) and PPAP where required.
• Raise non-conformances and support containment and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Production to resolve quality issues.
