Job summary

GE Vernova's Power Conversion business in the UK is seeking an Engineering Technician to join the manufacturing team. You will perform mechanical fitting, sub-assembly preparation and measurement to support the build and test of large electrical machines.

You will read engineering drawings, follow procedures, maintain 5S standards and work closely with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to hit production targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical and electrical fitting in manufacturing or engineering.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of geometric tolerances and drawing symbols.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical fitting activities and assemble machines for test.
• Prepare and assemble sub-assemblies including terminal boxes and frames.
• Measure components to tight tolerances using precision equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings to ensure accurate assembly.
• Maintain a clean, safe 5S workplace and complete quality records.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to meet targets.
• Support other manufacturing activities as needed.
