Job summary

Cubed Talent is recruiting a Mechanical Assembly Fitter for a permanent role in Leeds (LS12). Based at Wortley site, you’ll assemble and test precision metal forming equipment for a world-renowned engineering brand, with depth and real engineering credibility.

Based at Wortley, Leeds, the role involves problem solving, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to investigations. A strong fit is someone with depth as a mechanical fitter and good tolerance control.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained or NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar mechanical assembly or fitting role.
• Confident reading engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and SOPs.
• Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment.
• Familiarity with 6S/lean manufacturing and problem-solving tools (5Y/8D an advantage).

Responsibilities

• Assembly and testing of OEM machinery to meet customer requirements and drawings.
• Delegating and supporting semi-skilled colleagues on simple assembly tasks.
• Carrying out Operator Asset Care and maintaining 6S standards.
• Escalating parts, drawings, routings and machine faults through the proper channels.
• Participating in non-conformance investigations using 5Y/8D methodology.
