Job summary

David Brown Defence is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support precision manufacturing and metrology across production and assembly operations. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Design, and Quality to resolve complex manufacturing challenges and ensure components meet strict dimensional and quality requirements.

Role involves metrology planning, data analysis, and continuous improvement across manufacturing capability. UK Right to Work and security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Strong GD&T and drawing interpretation skills
• Experience with metrology equipment and laser trackers/ measuring arms

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams
• Support turning, boring and milling processes
• Interpret drawings, GD&T and machine capability
• Plan metrology activities using laser trackers and measuring arms
• Analyze measurement data and support stacked tolerance manufacture
• Participate in PFMEAs, process mapping and risk mitigation
• Support continuous improvement across quality, cycle time and capability
• Provide input into manufacturing methods, processes and tooling
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain
• Support FAT activities and customer-site installations
