Job summary

CMbE in Shipley, West Yorkshire, is seeking machinists to join the machine shop on a triple shift pattern. You will operate machine tools to produce engineering components, inspect parts to drawing specifications, and support handovers between shifts while maintaining accurate records.

Ideal candidates are apprentice-trained engineers (NVQ 3 or equivalent) with flexibility to work unsupervised and knowledge of Mazak/Heidenhain/Fanuc controls is desirable.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained engineer with NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification minimum.
• Strong ability to read drawings and manufacture to specification.
• Experience with setting and operating machine tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine tools to manufacture engineering components.
• Inspect parts against drawings and required standards.
• Replace and monitor cutting tools; perform handovers between shifts.
• Document results and support training of apprentices.
