Job summary

Layka Recruitment seeks a Mechanical Assembly Technician for a precision engineering environment. You will prepare component parts and assemble them into finished system elements, handling high‑value assemblies and hydraulic components with care.

You will read technical drawings, use hand and power tools, and adhere to 5S and health & safety procedures. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required to support installations.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret technical drawings for components and assemblies.
• Experience with mechanical assembly and hydraulics is preferred.
• Over 2 years of assembly experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Apprenticeship or equivalent background.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Safely prepare component parts to required quality standards for assembly.
• Manually handle parts and assemblies per health and safety requirements.
• Read and interpret drawings and follow instructions.
• Identify and report substandard quality.
• Work effectively with colleagues and follow risk assessments.
• Operate within work instructions and safety procedures.
• Utilize hand tools and ensure their return after use.
• Maintain 5S cleanliness and contribute to development projects.
