Job summary

Imrandd Ltd in Middlesbrough is seeking an experienced Grinding Operator to join our Production team. You will grind, deburr and finish large steel components used in offshore wind monopiles, following technical drawings and quality standards.

Working on a rotating pattern (days and nights) for a 40-hour week, you will contribute to safe production, quality control and continuous improvement while enjoying a competitive pension scheme and Medicash healthcare.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual and semi-mechanised grinding equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience using measuring equipment for quality control inspections.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding equipment safely and effectively.
• Prepare and set up tools and equipment for grinding operations.
• Grind, deburr and polish steel components to meet engineering specifications.
• Use grinding equipment to prepare materials before welding and complete finishing activities after welding.
• Mount and dismount workpieces safely and efficiently.
• Carry out quality inspections using measuring equipment and visual inspection techniques.
• Report fabrication defects, quality concerns and equipment issues to supervision.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic adjustments to grinding equipment and tools.
• Support production targets while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and safety.
• Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
