Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group Plc is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their precision engineering team. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality components in line with detailed engineering drawings and customer specifications.

You will play a key role in ensuring parts are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and to the required standards, while contributing to overall production performance.

Qualifications

• Completed an engineering apprenticeship or gained equivalent hands-on machining experience.
• Strong experience with CNC milling machines.
• Experience working with CAD/CAM software would be beneficial.
• Exposure to multi-axis machining centres is advantageous.
• Experience using manual machines.
• Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components.
• Producing parts in line with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Selecting appropriate tooling, cutting strategies and machining methods to optimise efficiency.
• Ensuring all components meet required quality standards and tolerances.
• Working to production schedules and deadlines to meet business and customer requirements.
• Carrying out basic inspection and quality checks.
• Identifying and resolving machining issues to maintain productivity.
• Supporting continuous improvement within the machine shop.
