Job summary

Interaction Technical are recruiting for a CNC Machinist in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, to join a busy toolroom in a well‑established manufacturing business. The role involves setting, operating and monitoring CNC milling, turning and machining centres to manufacture precision tooling and components.

The successful candidate will read engineering drawings and interpret CAD/CAM data, perform first-off and in-process inspections, and contribute to continuous improvement in a modern production

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Machinist, Setter/Operator or Toolmaker in precision engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Experience operating CNC mills, lathes or machining centres.
• Strong understanding of tolerances and quality requirements.
• Knowledge of measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges).
• Experience in injection moulding/plastics can be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and monitor CNC milling, turning and machining centres.
• Manufacture components to engineering drawings and specs.
• Machine and repair tooling and inserts; interpret CAD/CAM data.
• Select tools, fixtures and work-holding methods; carry out inspections.
• Make programme edits and offsets to maintain quality.
• Assist with maintenance and resolve tooling/machining issues.
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
