Job summary

Role: CNC EDM Machinist based in Drayton. A busy engineering and manufacturing business is looking for an experienced machinist to join the team.

This role involves setting, programming and operating Wire EDM and Die Sink/Spark EDM machines, as well as CNC/semi-CNC work to produce precision components and tooling. You will read engineering drawings, perform inspections and calculations, and manage work from setup to completion. Overtime is available at time and a half.

Qualifications

Experience reading engineering drawings.
Strong mathematical and geometric understanding is required.
Ability to manage own workload and work independently.
Able to perform own inspection and quality checks.

Responsibilities

Setting, programming and operating Wire EDM and Die Sink/Spark EDM machines.
Setting and operating CNC/semi-CNC machinery.
Producing one-off and precision components and tooling.
Programming directly at the machine.
Working from detailed engineering drawings.
Carrying out your own inspection and quality checks.
Reverse engineering components and tooling where required.
Using mathematics, geometry and trigonometry to calculate dimensions and machining requirements.
Monitoring machine condition and carrying out basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
Managing your own workload and taking jobs through from setup to completion.
