Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Automotive Engine Builder in Royston to join a well-established engineering team. You will assemble engines to tight specifications and ensure quality, performance and reliability.

The role includes installing components, performing inspections, maintaining a clean and safe workshop, and supporting other duties. The ideal candidate has engine building or mechanical engineering experience and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive engine building or mechanical engineering.
• Strong understanding of engine components and assembly processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in engine building or similar mechanical engineering role.
• Experience working within an automotive workshop or engine remanufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble automotive engines to detailed engineering specifications.
• Install and fit engine components using the correct tools and torque settings.
• Carry out quality inspections throughout the build process.
• Ensure completed engines meet performance and reliability standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Follow all health and safety procedures.
• Assist with other workshop duties as required.
