Job Title: Preceptorship Nurse (RMN/RNLD)

Location: Winchfield

Type: Permanent

Shift Pattern: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £32,760 per annum

Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preceptor Nurse to join our client's dynamic Multi-Disciplinary team. The role involves working collaboratively to maintain a safe and therapeutic care environment while exercising professional accountability in a changing and diverse setting. You will be supported to achieve the necessary post-qualification competencies within a 12-month framework.

Responsibilities:

1. Deliver prescribed care to a specific group of clients/patients within an agreed framework.
2. Plan and implement a structured approach to nursing care that respects patient choices and preferences.
3. Accurately observe and engage with patients to assess their needs and evaluate progress.
4. Monitor and review Nursing Care Plans regularly.
5. Evaluate and respond to changes in patients' conditions and needs.
6. Proactively manage suggestions and complaints from patients and their families/carers.
7. Work collaboratively with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team to provide holistic patient care.
8. Participate in both clinical and non-clinical meetings as required.
9. Prioritise nursing duties and delegate tasks effectively within the shift co-ordination framework under the supervision of a Staff Nurse or Senior Staff Nurse.
10. Maintain ongoing personal professional development in line with preceptorship and revalidation standards.
11. Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with patients, colleagues, and visitors, responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.
12. Help to create and maintain an environment that meets the needs of patients, relatives, and carers.
13. Engage in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least once a month.
14. Work under the supervision of a Registered Mental Health Nurse, and take charge of the ward when agreed within supervision.
15. Adhere to Safeguarding policies for adults and children.
16. Comply with medicines management policies at all times.
17. Ensure compliance with the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
18. Adhere to all relevant organisational policies, protocols, and the NMC Code.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin in either Learning Disabilities or Mental Health Nursing.
2. Newly qualified nurses are welcome to apply and will be fully supported through a structured preceptorship programme.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
4. A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care, with the ability to respond flexibly to changing needs.
5. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
6. A commitment to continuous professional development and the ability to meet the requirements of preceptorship and revalidation.
7. Basic IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate and timely records.
