Job description

The Governors of our friendly and successful school are seeking to appoint a Pre-School leader (Higher Level Teaching Assistant, HLTA) on a permanent basis to help us achieve our aims of getting the best from all our children in their learning and personal development.

The Pre-School leader (HLTA) will manage the unit on a day-to-day basis, reporting to the Headteacher and/or SLT as required. They will supervise and support Pre-School Assistants, allocate duties, and provide absence cover as needed.

The successful candidate will be flexible, resilient, a team player, and have high expectations of children, themselves, and other staff. Above all, they will be expected to provide outstanding pastoral care for our children.

Salary Grade 6, SCP 16 to 22, £29,572 to £32,654 pro rata (approx. £23,955 per annum). The position is 35 hours per week for 39 weeks per year (Term Time only).

You Will

1. Have experience of working with children in an educational setting;
2. Have completed TA qualifications to at least Level 3 or equivalent;
3. Have strong positive behaviour management strategies;
4. Support the ethos of the school;
5. Be enthusiastic and reflective;
6. Be skilled at building excellent relationships with children, parents, and staff;
7. Be an excellent communicator;
8. Have proven experience and impact when teaching groups of children in schools.
