Job description

The Pre-Sales Technical Consultant at AllPoints Fibre Networkswillbe responsible for demonstrating the technical/overall solution value of APFN and our network to new & existing Partners. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced industry professional with strong core technical skills to join and add value.

Responsible for actively driving and managing the pre-sales process with our customers across all go to market channels. The Pre-Sales Consultant must be able to articulate the company’s product & technology portfolio, positioning to both business and technical users.

The Pre-Sales consultant will provide technical assistance and guidance during both the onboard & pre-sales process, by identifying customers requirements, prior to designing a solution, consulting with technical teams about capabilities, and supporting business sales teams, account managers and partners on proposal activities.

Your role will be key to the onboarding experience of our customers and how they consume the services from APFN in the most automated way possible with an API native approach.

You will work with the APFN On-boarding Manager and key internal stakeholders to support the on-boarding of Strategic API Partners, facilitating the on-board and being the technical POC during the process.

You will perform demos of the aquila portal for Partners as part of pre-sales, on-boarding and post on-boarding.

You will consider how APFN can continuously evolve its processes and systems to ensure we maintain our differentiation in the fibre market based on Partner feedback.

What you will be doing:

  • Attend meetings with potential / existing Partners to determine technical and business requirements and position how APFN can address those requirements
  • Support the onboarding manager with the onboarding of Partners ensuring all the required information is collated prior to onboarding and support with answering technical questions from / supplying information to Partners
  • Support the onboarding manager with API onboards leading all technical aspects and acting as the conduit between the onboarding manager / APFN stakeholders and the Partner
  • Provide technical solutions in a professional manner and to agreed timeframes
  • Create and confidently deliver technical presentations internally and externally
  • Deliver training on solutions and provide product support to Partners and internal stakeholders
  • Create internal design configuration documentation including network diagrams with technical explanations
  • Work with Product Management to feedback on issues with current products and provide input around new products
  • Build productive relationships internally and externally, fostering teamwork by keeping colleagues updated on activities
  • Understand business drivers and risks involved to the customer and to APFN
  • Sell technical solutions to the customer with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Provide accurate and timely management information, to include - activity reports, bid reviews, project forecasts, KPI’s
  • Adhere to the Company’s quality and business processes
  • Structure and produce compelling sales proposals/ commercial and technical documentation outlining the cost savings and business benefits to clients in a partnership with APFN
  • To assume responsibility for running a bid team, where relevant Interface with the implementation / project team, articulating customer requirement, to ensure smooth transition from Sale to Delivery
  • Ability to demonstrate APFN products and technologies effectively to audiences of varied technical knowledge.

About you:

You will be someone with:

  • Proven experience in a wholesale telecoms business/ industry
  • Strong communication skills and leadership skills through collaboration
  • Strong understanding of the commercial wholesale market
  • Strong knowledge of connectivity methods using fibre presentation
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP v4 and an understanding of TCP/IP v6
  • Strong knowledge in Internet technologies (routing, switching and general network infrastructure) including technologies associated with the ISP market
  • Working knowledge of current security issues and technologies concerning the industry, together with a demonstrable interest in keeping abreast with technical developments in this field
  • Good working knowledge of APIs / Portals
  • Partner onboarding experience.
