Job summary

Payward is seeking a seasoned pre-sales engineer to drive discovery, design winning solutions, and build PoCs that close deals in a B2B API environment. You will partner with sales and our Partner Solutions Lead to map customer architecture, constraints, and compliance needs to our product suite.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a technical pre-sales role at a B2B API or infrastructure company.
• Proven track record in discovery, solution design, PoC delivery, and closing deals.
• Fluency with REST/WebSocket APIs, OAuth, JWT, and webhook patterns.
• Experience designing complex integrations for fintechs, banks, or neobanks.
• Strong knowledge transfer skills to package designs for implementation teams.
• Clear, structured communicator for discovery calls and design reviews.
• Experience writing RFPs and documenting solution approaches.

Responsibilities

• Run technical discovery with prospects alongside sales and Partner Solutions Lead.
• Design tailored solutions spanning existing offerings and bespoke integrations.
• Scope and build PoCs to demonstrate feasibility and win deals.
• Deliver clean handoffs to Implementation with docs and training.
• Lead pre-sales playbook activities and refine templates.
