Reporting to the Manager, Field Engineering.

The impact you will have:

  1. Form successful relationships with clients throughout your assigned territory, providing technical and business value to Databricks customers in collaboration with Account Executives.
  2. Operate as an expert in big data analytics to excite customers about Databricks. You will develop into a ‘champion’ and trusted advisor on multiple issues of architecture, design, and implementation to lead to the successful adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
  3. Author reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications to scale best practices in your field and support customers. Lead workshops, seminars, and meet-ups to help build the Databricks community in your region and scale best practices in your field.
  4. Grow your knowledge and expertise to the level of a technical and/or industry specialist.

What we look for:

  1. We are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled individual to join our EMEA Greenfield Business Unit, focused on landing new customers across both enterprise and high-growth start-up segments. This role offers the opportunity to be based in London or Paris, with regular collaboration across the EMEA region and close alignment with our London-based team.
  2. Experience, technical consultancy and/or presales with a background in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing or Data Science / AI / Machine Learning.
  3. Work with customers to help them adopt Databricks in solving critical challenges across Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and Machine Learning/AI. Experience in any vertical is welcome.
  4. Experience diving deeper into solution architecture and design.
  5. Engage customers in technical sales, challenge their questions, guide clear outcomes, and communicate technical and value propositions.
  6. Develop customer relationships and build internal partnerships with account executives and teams.
  7. Prior experience with coding in a core programming language (i.e., Python, SQL) and willingness to learn a base level of Spark.
  8. Proficient with big data Analytics technologies, including hands-on expertise with complex proofs-of-concept and public cloud platform(s).
  9. Experienced in use case discovery, scoping, and delivering complex solution architecture designs to multiple audiences, requiring an ability to context switch in levels of technical depth.
  10. Coach and mentor junior team members, helping them develop strong field engineering and customer engagement skills.
  11. Nice to have: Databricks or Cloud Certification.
  12. The candidate must be able to commute to London offices regularly and travelling approx. 20-30% of the time across UK & I and EMEA for customer visits.
