We are offering an exciting opportunity within our Maternity Services at East Kent Hospital University Foundation Trust in our shortened midwifery programme. This provides registered nurses with a training programme to become registered midwives.
It is an innovative, flexible, work based course for Qualified Adult Nurses who want to become Midwives. It will develop your skills and knowledge so that you can become a responsive, confident Midwife able to care for parents and their babies.
Our maternity units are based in Ashford and Margate, Kent, both areas having high speed rail links to London and easy access to Europe. We serve a diverse population of women, referred for both high risk and low risk pregnancies and with a professional and compassionate team of midwives and obstetricians.
East Kent midwives are proud to care for their women. Working for us will enable you to practice in an environment that attracts and retains an outstanding calibre of staff. Our Clinical Skills Facilitators will support you to provide a high standard of care to our patients when assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care.
Successful applicants will work towards a shortened midwifery course with Kingston University your tuition fees will be paid for, whilst working as a band 5 midwife with EKHUFT. During these 24 months you will be expected to work as a rotational midwife in the high risk labour ward, antenatal and postnatal ward, while achieving your core competencies.
