Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant for the Pre-Operative Assessment Department on a permanent, full-time basis. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm, in a warm, supportive team environment.

You will assist nurses with pre-operative assessments, update records, and help coordinate tests while ensuring patient confidentiality and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a clinical setting (hospital or GP surgery) is essential.
• Confident use of electronic patient records and health information systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic clinical skills and knowledge of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with comprehensive pre-operative assessments.
• Carry out routine tasks related to the delivery of care to patients.
• Update patient records accurately and maintain high standards of documentation.
• Book appointments and coordinate further tests when required.
• Support patients who may feel anxious about upcoming surgery.
