We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pre-operative Assessment Senior Nurse to join our Ward team based in Hemel Hempstead. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary plus benefits.

Main duties of the job

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Participate in delivering high standards of care to patients and their families.
• Take responsibility for pre-operative anaesthetic and medical assessments of patients undergoing surgery requiring Local Anaesthetic, Sedation, or General Anaesthetic.
• Ensure all investigations and results are collated for patient admission.
• Take responsibility for self-development and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.
• Recognise own limitations and seek advice from Line Manager.
• Contribute to the management of the Pre-assessment/department and Ward as needed.
• Deputise for the Ward/Pre-assessment Sister when required.
• Provide professional leadership and support.
• Act as a role model and contribute to nursing expertise and knowledge sharing.
• Promote practice and educational development at ward/department level.
• Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

For Clinical Roles:

The successful candidate will work on a shift basis, 37.5 hours per week over a 7-day rota, including weekends and bank holidays, during hospital operating hours. The rota is flexible and subject to change based on operational needs.
