Job summary

DWF is seeking a Pre-Litigated Paralegal to join its Major Injury & Casualty team in Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will support fee earners on pre-litigation insurer claims from inception to resolution, handling a diverse caseload with accuracy and urgency.

Essential experience includes 6+ months as a paralegal and familiarity with Scottish law. The role offers a structured progression path within a leading multinational legal business with a strong commitment to development and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Paralegal experience of 6+ months is essential.
• Experience in Scottish law is essential.
• Experience across Fraud, Motor, RTA, Personal Injury, EL/PL and other complex loss cases.

Responsibilities

• Assist fee earners on files and support qualified lawyers on pre-litigated insurer claims.
• Manage a caseload from instruction to settlement.
• Investigate liability and gather evidence.
• Liaise with clients, insurers and third parties.
• Assist in negotiating settlements and calculating damages.
• Ensure deadlines and pre-action protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for assisting fee earners on files and supporting our qualified individuals on a diverse caseload for insurers pre-litigated claims from inception to resolution.

• Managing a caseload of pre-litigated claims from instruction to settlement.
• Investigating liability and gathering evidence.
• Liaising with clients, insurers, and third parties.
• Negotiating settlements and calculating damages.
• Ensuring compliance with deadlines and pre-action protocols.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

• Previous Paralegal experience of 6+ months is ESSENTIAL for this role.
• Previous Scotland law experience is ESSENTIALfor this role.
• Experience in the following areas will be considered - Fraud, Motor, Road Traffic Accidents (RTA), Personal Injury, Serious Injury, Large Loss, Complex Loss, Catastrophic Loss, Employer's Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL), Occupiers Liability (OL), Credit Fraud, Recoveries, Abuse, Disease, etc.
• Strong communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Experience of working in a fast paced environment with a volume of claims.
