Job summary

Mixxos is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to own the preconstruction phase from development through handover at our Bedford office. You will bridge client needs with design intent and feasibility to establish ground rules for delivery.

The role requires a commercially minded estimator with technical strength, capable of coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams across the full preconstruction process.

Qualifications

• Experience as a construction estimator for commercial projects.
• HNC/HND in Construction and the Built Environment or equivalent.
• Experience with estimating and tender submissions.
• Meticulous, with a methodical approach to take-offs and pricing.
• Excellent communication with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
• IT literate and comfortable using estimating/quoting systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret project information to inform estimates and proposals.
• Prepare estimates and bid proposals for work values up to £3m.
• Accurately calculate take-offs from drawings for labour and materials.
• Plan and sequence construction activities relevant to pre-construction.
• Clarify specifications with clients via RFIs and maintain records.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing.
• Participate in tender reviews, hand-overs, and project close-out meetings.
• Use the in-house pricing system to deliver accurate estimates.
• Undertake site surveys and site visits as required.
