As part of the MEH (mechanical, electrical, HVAC) Alliance, you’ll contribute to the safe and timely installation of complex systems within a regulated environment, ensuring engineering excellence and schedule adherence.
We are looking for a highly motivated Construction Workpack Engineer to manage and deliver discipline-specific construction documentation across all stages of preparation, validation, and execution. You will be a key contributor to the pre-construction and installation phases, ensuring documents are aligned with the latest Works Information and project standards. Working closely with SMEs, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams, your role will be essential to enabling construction in line with the schedule and safety expectations.
1. Deliver High-Quality Workpacks
Create and manage discipline-specific Work Packs, including associated documentation such as RFIs and FCRs. Ensure timely delivery and >90% first-time acceptance.
Maintain traceability and control of all work information in the AS9 database.
2. Support Planning and Scope Definition
Define boundaries of scope and contribute to the development of Level 4 construction schedules.
Provide input into resourcing needs and review constructability to unlock additional workfronts.
3. Drive Coordination and Interface Management
Liaise with SMEs, client representatives, and cross-discipline teams to ensure alignment.
Enable coordination with temporary services, coatings, surveying, and other support teams.
4. Maintain Documentation Compliance and Progress
Ensure construction documents are up-to-date, compliant with the latest Works Information, and reviewed periodically.
Request clarifications or propose changes as needed, prioritising documents that enable upcoming construction work.
5. Leadership and Reporting
Report to the Area Pre-Construction Project Manager or their deputy.
Provide leadership to junior team members and deputise for the PM when required.
Actively support continuous improvement initiatives.
Proven experience in construction engineering within a regulated or high-complexity environment (nuclear, energy, industrial preferred).
Strong understanding of Work Pack delivery, constructability, and interface management.
Familiarity with nuclear safety requirements, site licence conditions, and document control systems (e.g. AS9).
Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
Ability to analyse and act on technical documentation and deliver under tight deadlines.
