Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) is expanding its Utilities & Energy team in London and seeks an Associate to lead pre-construction cost management for diverse utility projects. This client-facing role requires deep knowledge of procurement, estimating, cost modelling, and pre-contract strategy.

You will shape market positioning, support major bids, and embed commercial best practices across programmes, while mentoring a team and collaborating across disciplines within RLB.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline.
• Experience leading cost management teams within utilities or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong commercial awareness and client-facing consultancy experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost planning and estimating for utilities (Power, Water, Gas and Telecoms) projects.
• Lead procurement strategies and tender processes for major infrastructure schemes.
• Act as lead commercial advisor to clients and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Provide leadership and development for a team of cost managers within the utilities division.
