Job Overview

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, the post holder will be part of a team responsible for designing, pricing, and issuing agreements for our customers. The role involves supporting Designers through pre-construction work and assisting the Self-Lay and Delivery Teams with changes required during the Pre-Construction phase.


Maintaining safety, water quality, and customer satisfaction is essential. You will work collaboratively across Developer Services Delivery to ensure workflow processes are followed, while accurately updating AutoCAD drawings to facilitate smooth and safe work progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with and ensure Fire Service requirements are updated on the design.
  • Update Modelling & Networks departments once design is issued.
  • Serve as the point of contact for Fire Services regarding new fire hydrants, ensuring all processes are followed.
  • Update designs based on feedback from Construction teams following the Pre-Con phase.
  • Support all service levels and ensure high customer satisfaction, e.g., DMEX performance reporting metrics.
  • Promote LIFE and Well-being initiatives within your team.
  • Support adherence to CDM regulations throughout the design process.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders, such as local authorities, fire services, and landowners, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Ensure all budget costs are accurately captured and collated into the correct templates.
  • Maintain consistency of processes and standards across mains engineering.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Educated to A level standard with relevant technical/engineering qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of operational processes such as PE Pipe laying and jointing, Barrier Pipe jointing, Deep Excavations, Temporary Works, Service Avoidance, and the New Roads and Street Works Act.
  • Proven ability to manage information and ensure data quality.
  • Strong commitment to exceptional customer care and service.
  • Awareness of legislation, including the Competition Act and GDPR.
  • Effective team player with a partnership-oriented approach to business relationships.
  • Commercial awareness.
