Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a Team Manager to lead the Pre-Birth Team of social workers. You will provide clear leadership, professional challenge and management oversight to deliver intensive, relationship-based interventions that help children remain safely within their birth families.

The role offers a recruitment/retention allowance of £2,500 over 12 months, with hybrid working options and a generous benefits package including pension and annual leave.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of work with children, young people and families.
• Significant experience of identifying and responding to need and risk management.
• The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, young people and families and other professionals.
• A positive and innovative approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the Pre-Birth Team of social workers.
• Provide leadership, professional challenge and management oversight.
• Support, supervise and develop others within a practice setting.
• Work towards achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
