We are one of the largest providers of substance misuse services in England and Wales. Currently, we seek a talented Chartered Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist to manage, develop, and deliver psycho-social interventions within our new MHTR team in LLR.

This Primary Mental Health Treatment Requirement service offers individuals in the criminal justice system psycho-social interventions as an alternative to custodial sentences. It is part of a national network of psychology-led MHTRs. Our services emphasize bespoke, evidence-based interventions, regular supervision, and standardized outcome measures.

Role Responsibilities

You will provide clinical guidance, training, and leadership to a team of Senior Assistant and Assistant Psychologists delivering psycho-social interventions for individuals on a Mental Health Treatment Requirement. You will collaborate with other Turning Point MHTR services, working closely with their Clinical Lead under supervision. You will oversee the governance of the Leicestershire MHTR service, advise on psychological interventions, and build strong partnerships with external agencies.

Your role includes inspiring and developing your team, fostering psychological formulation skills, and applying a trauma-informed approach. You will also manage a small caseload involving complex needs, conducting assessments and therapies.

Beyond operational duties, you will influence the strategic development of the service, establish professional links, and explore service improvements integrating issues like housing, employment, and finances. You will collaborate with a national team of psychologists to develop approaches and advance your career in a relevant therapeutic field.

The Ideal Candidate

You should hold current HCPC registration as a Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist, possess a doctorate in your field, and demonstrate experience in delivering psychological services. Leadership and supervision experience, particularly with substance misuse populations, is preferred. Formal supervision training is desirable. Excellent communication, adaptability, and a commitment to the Recovery Agenda are essential.
