Based within an innovative and well-respected Staff Psychology Service, this varied and interesting role will include the provision of individual, group, and systemic interventions to support the psychological health and wellbeing of NHS staff. Our service is passionate about delivering impactful intervention and has excellent links across the organisation, which support our aim of working collaboratively, compassionately and proactively to improve staff wellbeing at BTHFT.

Main duties

Following a restructure of provision, we have a vacancy to join the Staff Psychology Service which forms part of the Clinical Health Psychology Department at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This position is to provide 0.8 WTE, working as part of a warm, supportive Staff Psychology team which includes a CBT therapist and Lead Clinical Psychologist.

In the wider department we currently have 36 clinical staff including Clinical and Health Psychologists, Psychotherapists, CBT Therapists and Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Social Workers, and it also includes Adult Health, Paediatric Health and Neuropsychology services.

Responsibilities

In addition to offering specialist psychological therapy focused on ameliorating the impact of work-related stressors or trauma, the post holder will also have the opportunity to deliver group-based intervention, supervision, and teaching and training. This may include, for example facilitating reflective practice spaces, providing support to teams after highly impactful events and facilitating training to equip and empower staff in supporting their teams wellbeing. We are therefore looking for a Practitioner Psychologist or Psychotherapist with an interest, and preferably some experience in, in working therapeutically with trauma, working with groups and an interest in systemic approaches.

The postholder will be based at St Lukes Hospital however as in reach input is an essential aspect of service delivery regular travel to the Bradford Royal Infirmary site will be expected as well as travel to community locations.

Person Specification

Experience

• Significant assessed experience in delivering psychological therapy to individuals with mental health difficulties across a range of presentations and full range of complexity and severity.
• Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, within the context of a multidisciplinary team.
• Significant experience in facilitating psychotherapeutic groups, including planning, delivery, and evaluation
• Experience of working with the impact of trauma, including understanding trauma responses and implementing appropriate interventions.
• Experience of delivering teaching or training to other professionals.
• Experience in providing clinical supervision
• Experience in offering psychological therapy in an occupational context or for occupationally linked mental health difficulties.
• Experience of working in an acute hospital setting or with medical teams
• Experience of using psychological interventions within a multicultural context
• Experience in service development and/or service evaluation.

• Familiarity with research, audit, or service evaluation in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology or its equivalent, accredited by the BPS. Training in models of developmental lifespan psychology, psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology and two or more distinct psychological therapies. HCPC Registered. OR oQualification in Psychotherapy with BACP/UKCP Accreditation OR oQualification in CBT with BABCP Accreditation
• Evidence of continuing professional development consistent with requirements of accrediting or registration body (HCPC/BACP/UKCP/BABCP as appropriate
• Further training in clinical supervision, such as a completed training course in clinical supervision or accreditation to supervise qualified psychological practitioners in the relevant discipline
• Evidence of post-graduate training in a NICE recommended therapy for PTSD
