Job description
Overview

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of service provision across all treatment pathways including outpatients, the enhanced treatment team, and flexibly, when needed, day care. They will be joining the service during an exciting period of service development and transformation with the scope to therefore develop specialisms within the field. They will receive clinical supervision from AEDS Principal Clinical Psychologist and will work closely with AEDS psychological therapies team. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical supervision for more junior members of staff (qualified and trainees).

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological assessments, formulations, therapeutic interventions (individual and group), and consultation to support people with complex presentations and needs; with a view to ensuring soon access to assessment and evidence based psychological therapy.
  • Contribute to the generic work of the team to support with optimising patient care where needed.
  • Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care. Maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • Act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005). Be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures and legislation.
  • Carry out comprehensive psychological and cognitive assessments and formulation, plan, implement and evaluate delivery of psychology interventions and consultations to support people with specific needs.
  • Actively involve people in developing and agreeing their own care plan, act as an advocate and ensure there is proper regard for their dignity, choice, self-esteem, racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences.
Qualifications and Professional Practice
