A leading healthcare provider in Wrexham is seeking a Practitioner Psychologist for a 6-month maternity cover position. Join a multidisciplinary team supporting patients with complex health conditions such as Long COVID. The ideal candidate will have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, HCPC registration, and a passion for research and co-development of services. Opportunity for part-time work and potential for remote arrangements.
This post is fixed term / secondment for 6 months due to Maternity Cover.

We have an exciting maternity cover opportunity for an HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist to join our Living Well Service. We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a skilled interdisciplinary team. The team is co-led by a Consultant Therapist and Consultant Clinical Psychologist and the MDT includes Clinical Psychology, Assistant Psychologists, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, GP and admin staff. The service supports people presenting with Long Covid, other post viral and fatiguing conditions, persistent physical symptoms, breathing pattern disorder and those who present frequently to services. The new Living Well Service provides a real opportunity for the applicant to get involved in the development of this service and shape the way we work with vulnerable groups who might otherwise fall through the gaps in services. We are an award winning, friendly and supportive team; who are research active, with a passion for co-production with our partners with Lived Experience.
The successful candidate will undertake a range of assessments and treatment / support of patients presenting with complex conditions which include but are not limited to: Long COVID; Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME; Persistent Physical Symptoms, Breathing Pattern Disorder, Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) and those who frequently attend services. They will promote psychological thinking and formulation within a multidisciplinary team and provide direct and indirect consultation to patients and their families / carers. Supervision of others, delivery of training, leadership and service development will also form an integral part of this role.
We are passionate about the co-development of our service and enriching it with research. Therefore, the post holder will have opportunities to help us to continue developing these two important areas.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

We are currently looking for a Band 8a candidate with appropriate experience or a qualified Practitioner Psychologist on a Band 7 basis to cover a period of maternity leave. This is a 3 day a week secondment opportunity. We are a pan North Wales service and are looking for someone to cover North East Wales although we are open to agreeing a base with the successful candidate. An element of remote working may be available once agreed.
Your role would include direct clinical work, consultation with multi-disciplinary colleagues, training, and service development, with further opportunities for research and audit.
