Practitioner Psychologist
Location: Barnsley
Contract: Part-time, permanent

Were looking for a passionate and creative Practitioner Psychologist to join our dynamic National Psychological Services Team at Waythrough.

About the role
As a Practitioner Psychologist, youll step into a key leadership role within our dual-diagnosis IRT teamproviding psychological expertise and supporting our dedicated teams working with people experiencing problem substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges.

You will:

  • Deliver direct psychological support, including trauma-informed interventions and specialist assessments.
  • Guide Recovery Navigators and Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioners through complex cases.
  • Provide group supervision and reflective practice across our community, HOPE, and criminal justice teams.
  • Lead and co-create training sessions, workshops, and therapeutic groups.
  • Influence and innovateembedding trauma-informed practices and representing the service at local and national forums.

Please note this role is 22.5 hours a week.

About you
Youre someone who:

Requirements
  • Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical, Counselling, Forensic, or Health Psychology or a postgraduate qualification in CBT, Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic or Systemic Therapy.
  • HCPC registration (for psychologists) or accreditation with a PSA-accredited body (e.g., BACP, UKCP).
  • Experience delivering specialist psychological assessments and trauma-responsive care.
  • Strong background in working therapeutically with people who use drugs and alcohol.
  • Skilled in facilitating training, workshops, or reflective practice groups.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
