Qualifications

Job description

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a motivated Practitioner Psychologist to work in an exceptional rehabilitation hospital based in the Leek, Staffordshire area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.


This is a mental health rehabilitation hospital that provides services for women with complex mental health needs. The environment at the service is a unique aspect of the service with care provided in one of six apartments which offer single and two person accommodations.


To be considered for this position you must hold Registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist and Charterable status with the British Psychological Society.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the service.
  2. Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
  3. Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertaking the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods.
  4. Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice.
  5. Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
  6. Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  1. Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice.
  2. Experience of applying psychological knowledge in a similar setting.
  3. Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits.
  4. Previous experience of conducting research and project work.

The successful Practitioner Psychologist will receive an excellent salary up to GBP57,220 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full-time role working through day shifts. In return for your hard work and commitment, you will receive the following generous benefits:
