Job Description:

We are looking for

An enthusiastic, innovative, and adaptable clinical, counselling, or health practitioner psychologist keen to develop experience, knowledge, and skills in paediatric medical specialties. The role involves contributing to multidisciplinary specialist services, including paediatric metabolic and gastroenterology teams.

Psychological Health Services is an award-winning department, recognized for leadership and the development of Trust-wide psychological services.

As a university teaching trust, research and quality improvement are integral to UHBW's mission to deliver excellent patient care, education, and applied research.

We are engaged in high-profile national networks across BPS, NHS, and charitable organizations and have strong links to local universities supporting research and clinical training, including honorary appointments up to professorial level. The service has an expanding research portfolio with opportunities for further development.

The role includes providing psychological assessments, formulation, and interventions for children and young people within paediatric metabolic and gastroenterology teams, in ward-based and outpatient settings. It also involves offering psychological advice, consultation, training, and support to other professionals involved in the care pathway, as well as supporting service development and evaluation.

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is one of the largest acute trusts in the country, with over 13,000 staff and more than 100 clinical services across 10 sites, serving a population of over 500,000 in South West England. Our hospitals are located in Bristol and Weston, offering a vibrant city or seaside lifestyle, with easy access to the South West's attractions.
