Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking an experienced Practitioner Psychologist to join Arbury Court in Warrington. You will manage a caseload, deliver specialist psychological treatments, and contribute to MDT work in a secure care setting for women with PD and mental illness.

You will report to the Consultant Psychologist, conduct assessments, and design and deliver training while developing your skills through extensive professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
• Post-graduate qualifications in psychology.
• Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice.
• Experience applying psychological knowledge to complex neuro/clinical presentations.
• Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits.
• Experience conducting research and project work.

Responsibilities

• Participating in assessment of referrals and providing initial assessments.
• Undertaking high quality direct and indirect psychological interventions.
• Working with service users with complex presentations using structured methods.
• Formulating and implementing specialist psychological treatment plans.
• Being professionally and legally responsible for clinical work.

Are you an experienced Practitioner Psychologist looking to take the next step in your career? If so, join Arbury Court in Warrington, a medium and low secure care and Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU) for women aged 18 years and over with Personality Disorder (PD) and mental illness. Reporting directly to the Consultant Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.

As a Practitioner Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user's caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the service.
• Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
• Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi structured clinical methods.
• Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence based best practise.
• Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
• Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Be HCPC registered
• Appropriate post-graduate qualifications
• Have understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
• Have experience of applying psychological knowledge to aclinical/neuro
• Be experienced working with clients with cognitive deficits
• Have previous experience of conducting research and project working
