Job description

The post holder will be involved in delivering the new Bambu project. Bambu is a service that aims to provide tailored, specialist support to meet the holistic needs of children and young people (CYP) impacted by domestic abuse in the home while working in a multi-agency approach. The post holder will have experience working with children and young people, using motivational and strength-based approaches, and various communication modes to engage them.

Assessment
  • Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and child safety plans involving a broad range of professionals and gathering critical information about the CYP.
  • Involve statutory and voluntary professionals, family, and friends to develop bespoke safety plans where it is safe to do so.
  • Use judgment and expertise to carry out assessments and undertake outcome-focused planning with children and families.
Resilience sessions
  • Advocate for the rights of children to be respected, heard, and protected.
  • Use trauma-informed approaches to improve safety, resilience, and wellbeing. Identify escalation of risk and follow safeguarding procedures where concerns arise.
  • Adhere to relevant programme manuals for CYP, delivering sessions in group or one-to-one settings using various communication modes.
  • Motivate and inspire CYP, parents, and professionals; be innovative, flexible, and creative while delivering evidence-based practice.
  • Consult with CYP and incorporate their views into resilience sessions.
Specialist Child To Parent Violence Delivery
  • Deliver sessions for children, young people, and parents using Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) techniques, applying a systematic family approach to managing violence in the home.
  • Adhere to programme manuals for parents, children, and young people.
  • Use motivational interviewing techniques and strength-based approaches to engage families.
  • Support families in learning skills and knowledge to manage behaviour non-violently, using NVR and CBT methods.
  • Complete assessments, reports, and End of Intervention reports to a high standard.
  • Provide support and consultancy to other professionals to ensure appropriate referrals and understanding of NVR and CBT techniques.
  • Plan interventions effectively in advance of sessions.
  • Complete relevant NVR and other training to undertake this work.
  • Deliver community training as required.
Recording And Administrative Tasks

Ensure timely and accurate recording of all relevant data, maintain an audit trail of communications, and complete questionnaires in line with social impact strategies. Contribute to evaluation and social impact evidence.

General Tasks
  • Work with the Team Leader or Service Manager to review risk weekly.
  • Attend risk review meetings to ensure effective risk management.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and respond to their needs.
  • Collaborate with statutory and voluntary professionals to protect at-risk individuals, applying escalation procedures.
  • Represent RISE interventions at stakeholder events.
  • Attend Clinical Consultancy and Practice meetings to support safe practice and resilience.
